 |
Rochester artist Kurt Pfeiffer has been painting since he was 10 years old.
Pfeiffer attended Rochester Institute of Technology, spending his junior year abroad studying drawing, painting, and printmaking at the Ruskin School of Drawing in Oxford, England. He also attended the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television.
Besides solo and group exhibitions in New York and California, Pfeiffer's work has been exhibited in numerous museums including the Everson Museum of Art, the Memorial Art Gallery, Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, Rome Art and Community Center, Rochester Contemporary Art Center, and the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center.
His art - colorful graphic paintings and prints of everyday objects (tulips, birdhouses, shoes, overstuffed chairs, road signs, airplanes and more) - alternates between delightful, refreshing whimsy and deep soul-searching revelation.
In addition to his fine art painting, Pfeiffer has over 30 years experience in advertising. Pfeiffer has worked as an Art Director and Creative Supervisor at several advertising agencies, including Hutchins/Young & Rubicam, Saatchi & Saatchi (Rumrill-Hoyt), and Roberts Communications. |
